The Boys & Girls Village is a nationally-recognized service provider for Connecticut children in crisis. The organization offers residential shelter, clinical, after-school, counseling, special education, foster programs, adoption, family support services and day programs for children and their families.
As the organization has grown over the years, increasing levels of service fueled the need to expand the organization’s residential capacity at their Main Campus, and a capital campaign raised $4.2 million for new housing. Viking Construction won the project, the construction of twin, 10,500-square-feet residences, including private bedrooms for the children, family meeting rooms and outdoor play areas.
The experienced Viking team self-formed much of the site work, plumbing and finish carpentry, bringing the much-needed project in on time and on budget. Today, children who have experienced great hardships in their young lives have a modern, comfortable place to call home.
