ARCHITECT
Perkins Eastman Architects
Viking Construction served as general contractor on the $45 million renovation and new construction project for Strawberry Hill School (an extension of the Rogers International Magnet School) located near downtown Stamford. New construction of an 85,107 square-foot school building began in February of 2018, followed by renovation of the Sacred Heart Academy’s original 1925 brick building and an adjacent 1964 brick structure. Renovation work called for specialized craftsmen to repair and restore original elements including terrazzo flooring, plaster ceilings, detailed oak paneling, and rooftop copper vents. Viking completed extensive sitework to prepare utilities, drainage, and foundation work for the new addition, parking surfaces and lighting, athletic fields, and other common spaces. All work was completed in October 2020.
