The Windward is a new affordable housing complex located just off of I-95 in Bridgeport. Phase one of this three-phase project includes four completed buildings that house 1- and 2-bedroom housing units as well as a Southwest Community Health Center facility. This phase included the creation of a large parking area and a playground and plans for Phase 2 and Phase 3 will include four more buildings.

The Windward is located on the site of the former Marina Village housing complex. JHM Group, the developers of the site, partnered with Park City Communities, which owns and manages the city’s public housing, to revive the complex. The $27 million project included the creation of 60 new mixed-income housing units during phase one, with 100 overall — a third of which have been set aside for residents relocated during the redevelopment of Marina Village.
