The annual Barnum Festival is a seasonal celebration of the City of Bridgeport that dates back to 1948. The festival originated to help support local businesses and honor P.T. Barnum and it spans several weeks in an effort to build community spirit, enrich the lives of Bridgeport residents, and give back, culminating in a weekend-long Barnum Palooza that includes parades, concerts, fireworks, and other family-friendly events.
This year’s theme was “Everyone Counts” and Marty Schwartz former president and CEO of The Kennedy Center, participated as the 2019 Ringmaster. A longstanding champion for people with disabilities, Marty will donate part of the festivals proceeds to programs that support special needs children. Viking Construction was honored to support this cause and to tow a float in this years’ event.
